>> Web Design FAQ's

  1. How can I get a domain name such as www.mybusiness.com?
We can purchase a domain name for you, but first we have to check if it is available. Domain names can be bought on a per year basis, even up to 10 years at a time. There are a number of domain name extensions available, and you can choose the type you want depending on your company and where it is located. Examples include: .com, .net, .org, .au, .can, .us, .mil, .edu, .gov, etc.

  2. What is web hosting?
A service that allows you to upload and store a site's HTML documents and related files on a Web server. This makes the files available on the Internet (World Wide Web), for viewing by the public. Also called site hosting.

Web hosting allows your web site to be connected to the Internet  via a server so its information can be viewed globally through a browser such as Internet Explorer (IE). Renting space on a server is comparable to renting an apartment. For a monthly or yearly fee, you rent the apartment and all maintenance is the responsibility of the property owners. A Web hosting company houses your Web site on its own secure servers, enabling you to affordably rent the power of a high-speed network, 24/7 expert monitoring and support, and state-of-the-art technology.

  3. How do I host my web site online?
We work with a number of professional and affordable web host companies that we can host your web site with. Alternatively, if you already have a web host that you would like to use or have an account with, we can design your site and upload the files to your current web hosting account.

  4. What is SEO (Search Engine Optimization)?
Search Engine Optimization, also known as SEO, is the art and science of making web pages attractive to the search engines.

The better optimized the page is, the higher a ranking it will achieve in search engine result listings. This is especially critical because most people who use search engines only look at the first page or two of the search results, so for a page to get high traffic from a search engine, it has to be listed in those first two pages.

Search engine optimization focuses on techniques such as making sure that each web page has appropriate title tags and meta tags, and that the keyword or key phrases for the page are distributed throughout the content in a way that the particular search engine will like.

  5. What is PPC advertising?
PPC is the online advertising payment model in which payment is based solely on qualifying click-throughs.

In a PPC agreement, the advertiser only pays for qualifying clicks to the destination site based on a prearranged per-click rate. Popular PPC advertising options include per-click advertising networks, search engines, and affiliate programs.

Paying per click is sometimes seen by some as a middle ground between paying per impression and paying per action. When paying per impression, the advertiser assumes the risk of low-quality traffic generated by the publisher. When getting paid for actions, the publisher assumes the risk of low-converting offers by the advertiser. In the PPC model, the publisher does not have to worry about the sales conversion rate of the target site, and the advertiser does not have to worry about how many impressions it takes to attract the specified number of clicks.
